Crazy Monster Comic Series: musings about the world of sociology

I started making the Crazy Monster Comic series when I was in coursework for my Sociology PhD. I was new to the discipline and to academic culture. There were so many moments in seminars where I felt like I did not belong in academia or have the qualities to be a researcher. Drawing these stick figures was a fun way to play with the new intellectual concepts that I was learning and it was also a therapeutic process to poke fun at my own discipline. Crazy Monster evokes characteristics of a seasoned sociologist while Generic Asian Man embodies a new inductee to sociology. I have a backlog of cartoons to upload! But here are a few for now.
